Top 10 Ways to Wear Black and White

From old-school denim cutoff and t-shirt match-ups to strategic LWD colorblocking and stark graphic prints, there's 10 styling tips to keep our summer outfits on point. Now just keep clicking.

Style Tips 1:

Wear a black-and-white printed tee for a subtle take on the trend.

Style Tips 2:

Taylor Tomasi Hill shows us how to indulge in the starkest kind of contrasts via sharp cuts, graphic prints, and strong shapes.

Style Tips 3:

Mix up your black-and-white prints via stripes and polka dots.

Style Tips 4:

For an off-duty take on black-and-white dressing, try on this semisheer t-shirt and ripped denim cutoff look.

Style Tips 5:

Show off your legs Hanneli Mustaparta-style in a formfitted black leather skirt, then tuck in a slouchy white tank — T by Alexander Wang has a great selection! — for a cool-girl finish.

Style Tips 6:

We love the billowy effect versus tailored pieces in this wide-leg ensemble.

Style Tips 7:

You can add sweet details, like a girlie, red heart-shaped pendant necklace, to your two-toned attire.

Style Tips 8:

Offset a sheer black Summer dress with an oversized white envelope clutch. The menswear-inspired portfolio will toughen up its more feminine complement.

Style Tips 9:

A mismatched black-and-white blazer and blouse combination adds interest to a simple black skinny jean on bottom.

Style Tips 10:

Sometimes you can get your black-and-white fix in one go. Case in point: this printed romper showcases our favorite monochromatic duo without being overwhelming.

Top 3 Summer Shoes for Men

In this post, I am going to talk about the summer footwear and how best to look after your feet throughout this tricky season.

1. The Flip-Flop

First of all, whether you love or hate them, it is almost impossible to avoid wearing flip-flops. Sometimes practicality rules over style – although we would all like to live in a world where we look well put together every hour of the day, for most it is not a realistic or reasonable expectation.

 Tips:
  • Keep your choice minimal.
  • Go with a navy or black – something that can be thrown on without much thought.
  • Stick with rubber, as they are easy to clean, extremely flexible and easily affordable. As long as you use them at the appropriate times, there is nothing wrong with owning a pair – don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

2. Leather Sandals

Investing in a pair of good quality leather sandals is also a good option. The summer is all about spontaneity and a casual day spent lounging in the garden can quickly turn into a smart-casual barbeque at a friends house.

 Tips:
  • They should be used in the evening when dining or even visiting a bar, so wear with a pair of smart chinos and a loose fit shirt to look the part but also retain comfort when the heat is intense.

3. Espadrilles

The third style of shoe is very often over-looked by most – the espadrille. They can look slick whether worn with shorts or trousers and, contrary to popular opinion, can be dressed up or down to suit.

Tips:
  • In most instances, the espadrille is a slip on shoe constructed of a flat rope sole and a basic canvas top.
  • Words of warning: if they are being worn heavily, do not expect them to last a long time.
